Gaming: What I’m Looking Forward To (And Thinking About Buying A PS3 Just To Play) – The Last Of Us

So this game looks like it has everything I’ve ever wanted and dreamt of in a single title. Survival horror, immersive realism, post apocalyptia, clever A.I. (both in your ally and enemies) etc etc. And it’s just my luck that it’s exclusive to the PS3, when I own a fucking X-Box. However I’m still gunna keep watching YouTube videos about it and praying for a shock announcement of its availability for the 360. Here’s a gameplay trailer for you:

I was a huge fan of Monsters Inc when I first saw it all those years ago in the cinema and seeing this trailer has reminded me of just how good it was and made me realise how good this ones gunna be. It’s going to be classic Pixar greatness, enjoy the trailer.

Gaming: What I’m Looking Forward To – Halo 4

I went off Halo after the second game, in a world where Call of Duty and Battlefield were blowing everyone away with huge production value and brilliant stories the Halo franchise felts slightly dated and cheesy, as if it was one of the old Star Trek films put up against the latest Blu Ray release. The various poor quality spin offs didn’t help it’s case either and it slipped out of my sphere of awareness. However with developers 343 Industries being handed the baton and tasked with re-establishing the Halo franchise in a relevant gaming market it looks like it could be back to the brilliance of the first game. The graphics look sleek, the story looks genuinely interesting and the gameplay appears to be involving and cool as fuck. It’s a while till it’s released but check out the recent E3 gameplay trailer and tell me it doesn’t look good.

I hate the Superbowl but if you can take one thing from it it’s that it gives us some awesome adverts/trailers. No words can describe how unreal this film is gunna be, just watch and prepare to get a hard on.

Gaming: What I’m Looking Forward To – Mass Effect 3

Saw on the Xbox marketplace today that there’s a demo coming for this soon, almost wet myself. the Mass Effect series are by far the best Sci-Fi RPG games I have ever played by a long mile. The arching storylines, with the good/bad system that was introduced in Mass Effect 2, really pull you in and make you feel like you’re playing a huge budget Hollywood blockbuster more than a game. The graphics are slick as they come and the combat system is nails. The way in which you can edit your character also adds a further depth to an already enthralling game. So in no shorter terms, I CAN’T FUCKING WAIT FOR THIS GAME! Enjoy the trailer.
