Gaming: What I’m Looking Forward To – Mass Effect 3

Saw on the Xbox marketplace today that there’s a demo coming for this soon, almost wet myself. the Mass Effect series are by far the best Sci-Fi RPG games I have ever played by a long mile. The arching storylines, with the good/bad system that was introduced in Mass Effect 2, really pull you in and make you feel like you’re playing a huge budget Hollywood blockbuster more than a game. The graphics are slick as they come and the combat system is nails. The way in which you can edit your character also adds a further depth to an already enthralling game. So in no shorter terms, I CAN’T FUCKING WAIT FOR THIS GAME! Enjoy the trailer.

Lifestyle: Wankered Wednesdays – The Tom Collins

 

This one looks a bit fruity I’m not gunna lie, could well be something my nan drinks but it is a classic. The history of it is pretty crazy, basically there used to be a joke people would play in 1870’s New York where they would tell people about a ‘Tom Collins’ ask them if they’d seen him and then proceed to tell them that he had been saying things about them or making jokes about them etc etc. (They had a cracking sense of humour back then!) Anyways the first recorded recipe came about the same time as these jokes/hoaxes were going on and BOOM the Tom Collins was born.

You will need: 1/2 oz Gin, 1/2 oz Simple Syrup, Juice of 1/2 Lemon, Soda Water, Ice

To prepare: 1.Shake the Gin, Simple Syrup and Lemon Juice over Ice.
2. Fill a tall glass with Ice and strain the mix into it.
3. Top with Soda Water and stir (Garnish with a bit of lemon if you’re that bothered)

Get twice as hammered tonight please because I’m too ill to.

Lifestyle: Munch Mondays – Chili Con Carne

Another new thread here, Munch Mondays is gunna be a new recipe every Monday that’s proper tasty and easy to cook. However, it wont have any of those flowery words that you find in most recipes like ‘dice’ or ‘wash’, it’ll be straight to the point. No better one to start on than Chili, one of my most favourite meals. So you will need (Serves 4 btw):

Top Five: Things You Find In A Uni House

Sitting here in my student pit I’ve realised that there are things you’ll find in any student house the length and breadth of the country. So here they are:

5. Empty cans/bottles
Was it pre drinks yesterday or a week ago? Who knows, it all blurs into one massive drunken and hungover mess. However, no matter how long it has been since you last had everyone round yours getting hammered so they could then go and get paralytic in town before then almost dying of alcohol poisoning by the time they got home, there will always be at least one half full can of beer/cider sitting somewhere on the floor in the living room. You always end up finding it when you’re hungover as well, when emptying it creates a smell that almost causes you to throw up your own spleen.
